Verratti wanted by top teams

Marco Verratti's agent has spoken to his client's future.

"Marco is a major crossroads in his career. He is 24 years old and will have to take important decisions for the future, "said agent Donato Di Campli.

"Real Madrid and Barcelona are interested in, but there are also some Italian clubs like Inter and Juventus," said Verratti's agent.

He also wanted by Chelsea and Manchester United.

Verratti has spent nearly his entire senior career at Paris Saint-Germain, joining in 2012. He won the Ligue One title each of those years, ensuring consistent Champions League ball. He has 35 Champions League appearances, but has never progressed beyond the quarter-finals.

Despite his loyalty to the club, his desire to win a more competitive league and move deeper on the European stage may compel him to leave France.

Paris Saint-Germain would demand – and should receive – the entirety of the Oscar windfall for Verratti. Chelsea would also need to top that off with contributions from the Mikel John Obi and Branislav Ivanovic transfer revenue. Chelsea should expect to pay from the mid-£60 to mid-£70 million for Verratti.

At the other end of this week’s Champions League success (and on the subject of clubs who never advance very far), Alexis Sanchez has to be seriously questioning his choices in life right now. Bayern Munich handed Arsenal and Arsene Wenger a historically brutal defeat.

Verratti has been the subject of regular transfer speculation but said he was part of "a great project" at the Parc des Princes.

"I am happy to be attracting interest from elsewhere, and other major clubs, but I do not want a change," he added.

"I am part of a great project and we want to become one of the top three teams in Europe."

He explained that fatigue had been behind the leg injury that saw him substituted with 20 minutes of the game remaining.

Next up for Verratti and PSG are Toulouse, who visit in Ligue 1 on Sunday and are one of the four teams to have beaten Emery's men this season.
